Sepupu saya punya teman dapat netbook sony vaio Y series VPCYB154AG, dan belum di install, sementara paket installnya telah tersedia /dibundle dalam hardisknya, tinggal execusi, namun setelah selesai installasi muncul satu gambar yang kurang sedap, setiap kali login selalu di tampilkan kotak pesan bertulisan ” windows could not complete the installation. to install windows on this computer restart .

Karena baru pertama kali install yang source installasinya dari hardisk, saya sempat bingung mengatasi masalah windows could not complete the installation. to install windows on this computer restart (tahun 2012). Namun di setiap masalah selalu ada solusinya Insya ALLAH.

Cara pertama

1. Tekant tombol CTRL + ALT + DEL -> Task Manager -> Kill (end process) Audit.exe
2. Buka Command Prompt, klik tombol start -> ketikkan cmd -> Kemudian enter
3. Pada layar comment prompt masuk ke directory c:\Windows\System32\oobe\
4. Ketikkan msoobe  dan tekan Enter
5. Ikuti step by step  di tampilan yang di munculkan karena perintah msoobe tadi, Jangan lupa CREATE USERNAME baru, dan jangan gunakan username ADMINISTRATOR (ingat)
6. Setelah selesai restart netbook / laptop anda, dan lihat hasilnya.

Cara kedua

Untuk windows could not complete the installation. to install windows on this computer restart . Tapi tidak bermanfaat dan tidak mengubah apapun yakni mengubah value regedit, mana tau cara ini berhasil di laptop anda silahkan di coba :

1. Tekant tombol CTRL + ALT + DEL -> Task Manager -> Kill (end process) Audit.exe
2. Klik Start -> Ketik regedit -> hapus value regedit di bawah ini (ingat hanya valuenya bukan foldernya)

Windows XP: AuditInProgress in HKLM\System\Setup
Windows Vista: ImageState in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\State
Windows 7: ImageState in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\State pilih Modify.

Cara ketiga

Saya belum mencobanya tapi mana tau anda ingin mencobanya :

1. Reclone Windows 7. Do not start it yet.
2. Insert the Windows 7 CD and boot it up. Click Repair and click to open a command prompt.
3. Execute notepad to edit the file c:\windows\panther\unattend.xml. Change the SkipMachineOOBE and SkipUserOOBE options to “true”. Save the file.
4. Remove the CD and reboot. Now Windows should be able to start up.
5. Run Windows System Image Manager to fix the error in the answer file, especially in the OOBE sections. In my case, I got something wrong in Local Accounts settings and get sucks.
